If you want to be my friend, the easiest and fastest way is to start a conversation with me about music or Jesus.
That’s how my friend Bram and I became friends. We both were passionate about Jesus, but we also found out that we were two of the only people at our college who liked heavy music. It’s not a surprise that the first time I heard about RYFO was from a video Bram showed me. I was floored. People were giving touring musicians and bands a free place to stay, eat, sleep, shower- and loving on them? I wanted to join in right then. At the time, I was already involved in a local ministry to musicians and bands. My heart was already connected to the vision of what RYFO was doing before I knew it existed. I knew this was something I wanted to be a part of, but I didn’t think that would happen until someday I was married and could hopefully become a Host Home.
What I didn’t know then was that God had more in mind.
Three years later, I graduated college with my degree in journalism. I began praying about the future. What did I want to do? Where could I be used?
I thought about RYFO, how awesome they are, and how much I wanted to be a support to them. I sent an email to find out if any of my skills could contribute, and we found a fit! I’ve was recently welcomed on the volunteer staff as Communications Coordinator. I will be managing RYFO’s blog and social media.
My main goals for the role is to create and post more consistent content on both the blog and social media. I want to introduce more of the Host Home families that are a part of the RYFO network so everyone can get to know them, as well as new staff members that have joined. I also want to share testimonies of what is happening within the music community.
It’s an honor and a blessing to be a part of the RYFO community. From the time I have spent getting to know them, they all are truly loving and genuine people who have a heart for God and to see Him at work in the music community at all levels. They are intentional about caring for everyone who is a part of that. They’ve already supported me through some difficult times since becoming a part of the volunteer staff.

Hi Breanna and the RYFO org! My heart bump in the breast of mine when I read your text! We have the same heart and the same vision included goal! I l living in Sweden so my native language is Swedish and not English, so it´s maybe not always perfect English, ok! I believe we are puzzel pieces bringing together, we are in this mission ONE together bringing salvation worldwide amongs metalscenes! I hope we can networking underground together become like strong roots worldwide for God´s vision to become true! I love my ppl the metalheads!
